The St. Joseph Hospital Parish Nurse Program and the Greater Nashua Parish Nurse Partnership form an interfaith church and healthcare partnership designed to reaffirm the church's role in ministering to the whole person.
Who is the Parish Nurse? The Parish Nurse is a resource person, a health counselor, and promoter of holistic wellness. Parish Nurses are usually parishioners of their own faith congregations. They do not dispense or administer medications, perform invasive procedures, or duplicate existing home health programs and services.
Many Parish Nurses are volunteers; however, St. Joseph Hospital provides the Parish Nurse Center for Wellness, which is staffed full-time, in support of the Greater Nashua Parish Nurse Partnership. The Center is open to all, and services are free or available for a minimal fee.
This neighborhood outreach program fosters collaboration between area organizations and churches to promote wellness and provide preventative healthcare services within our community.
