Tobacco Treatment Program (TTP)
Services include full assessment and counseling as well as pharmacologic treatments such as nicotine patches, lozenges and gum, buproprion, and the newest treatment option: varenicline (Chantix®). Freshstart®: Staying Quit and Enjoying it Forever Group Therapy
Have you tried to quit smoking a number of times, but continue to fall back to that habit? Do you have good intentions of quitting, but still light up day after day? The Oncology Center, in conjunction with the American Cancer Society, wants to help you quit by offering a four-week Freshstart, smoking-cessation group therapy program. Class size is limited, so registration is required. Call (603) 595-3168 to find out when the next session starts.
Early Detection - Screenings
Skin Screening - The Oncology Center provides free head-to-toe skin cancer risk factor assessments. Individualized skin cancer prevention recommendations will be discussed by a licensed nurse practitioner. Registration is required.
Prostate Cancer Screening - Held in September of each year. Screening includes a PSA test (blood work) and a rectal exam by a urologist. Participants should anticipate 60-90 minutes for the entire screening. Pre-registration is required.
Breast and Ovarian Cancer Screenings - "Let No Woman Be Overlooked"
This program provides free breast and cervical cancer screenings to women ages 18 to 64 who do not have health insurance or have insurance that does not pay for the screening tests. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call Doreen or Mary at (603) 882-3000, ext. 67188.
