Kimberly McGrath-Chase, BSN, RN-CC, Clinical Nurse Manager, Milford Urgent Care – Kim has spent her entire time with St. Joseph Hospital working in the Urgent Care Department, which has allowed her to grow professionally while becoming deeply invested in her team and the community they serve. She initially joined as a per diem staff RN while working full-time at Elliot Hospital. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, the Clinical Nurse Manager retired, and Kim was given the opportunity to step into the Clinical Nurse Manager role.
Kim says that her favorite thing about her department is the people and the connection they have with the Milford community. “I truly love being part of this community and knowing that we are helping provide our neighbors with timely access to high-quality, compassionate care when they need it most. I also feel incredibly fortunate to lead such an exceptional group of professionals. Our nurses are brilliant, passionate, and genuinely love what they do, and that passion is evident in the care they provide to every patient who walks through our doors. What makes me most proud is seeing this team support one another, continuously look for ways to improve, and come to work each day with a shared commitment to our patients and our Mission. Being able to lead this team while serving a community I care so deeply about is incredibly rewarding, and I am grateful for the opportunity every day.
One of Kim’s colleagues shared, “Kim lives the mission of SJH through her unwavering commitment to caring for both patients and caregivers. She understands that exceptional patient care begins with a supported and engaged team. Kim maintains a visible presence throughout the department and consistently leads by example.”
When asked about a memorable moment at work Kim shared, “One of my most memorable experiences during my time here was the opportunity to serve a warm meal to members of the Nashua community who were experiencing food and housing insecurity. Being there, listening to people’s stories, sharing conversations, and simply being present reminded me that sometimes the most meaningful care we can provide is making someone feel seen, valued, and treated with dignity. I was also especially grateful to experience this alongside Dr. Martin, my Medical Director, whom I deeply respect and look up to, and seeing his compassion and commitment to serving others was incredibly meaningful to me. I left that evening feeling humbled and inspired, with an even deeper understanding of what it means to live our Mission and care for the whole person.”
Outside of work, Kim is equally as passionate and dedicated to her family; her husband Alan, their four children and three pets. Congratulations, Kim!
