Recovering from a major cardiovascular event requires specialized care. At St. Joseph Hospital, our medically supervised cardiac rehabilitation program is designed to help you regain strength, lower your coronary risk factors, and improve your overall health. We provide a variety of educational and therapeutic services with the goal of guiding you back to an active and fulfilling lifestyle.

Acute Outpatient Program

Our acute outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program is designed to treat patients who have heart disease or have had a procedure to treat their heart disease. Lasting from 4-12 weeks, this program consists of progressive aerobic exercise and strength training that is telemetry-monitored and medically supervised. Overseeing this program is a team of cardiologists, cardiac nurses, nutritionists, and exercise specialists. Additionally, this program consists of:

  • Heart health education for patients and their family members
  • Medically monitored exercise
  • Stress management, risk factors, and behavior modification strategies
  • Social services, including monthly cardiac support group meetings
