10 FEMA Paramedics Arrive at St. Joseph Hospital

St. Joseph Hospital announced today the arrival of 10 paramedics from around the country to help with the record number of COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized. The paramedics are deployed as care providers American Medical Response’s (AMR) contract with FEMA and are responding to the request for aid in New Hampshire following record surges in COVID-19 hospitalizations and infections.

“We are very thankful for the support from these caregivers during this critical time in the pandemic,” said St. Joseph Hospital President, John A. Jurczyk, FACHE. “These men and women have traveled here from all over the country and their clinical skills will be vital toward helping us maintain high-quality care for our sickest patients.”

Upon arrival, the paramedics will be assigned to a variety of units throughout the hospital including the Emergency Department, ICU, and the Monoclonal Antibody Clinic. The deployed caregivers will remain at the hospital from February 2nd to February 16th. These timeframes may change as the situation evolves.
