Marc Bechard – Transporter, Patient Care Services Marc began his journey at St. Joseph Hospital in 2019 working in the OR as a Unit Assistant for Anesthesia. After taking a 6-month hiatus, Marc returned in 2022 as an Endoscopy Tech and then transitioned into his current role as a Transporter for Patient Care Services.
Marc received not one, but two nominations for Mission Champion! One nominating colleague says, “Marc is always ready to help everyone. He does is job with purpose and efficiency, going above and beyond with kindness and respect towards both patients and coworkers.”
Another colleague says, “Marc is phenomenal with patients and colleagues. I have watched him on several occasions talk to patients with such respect, listening to them and offering them all the comfort he can, Marc exemplifies patient care on every level.”
Marc says he likes knowing that he is helping, especially when a department is extremely busy and he can help to make things run more efficiently. One of the highlights of his day is seeing people and patients in the halls that he has transported before and the recognize him and say ‘Hi’. One of Marc’s most memorable moments was being personally invited by an intern to attend the Project SEARCH Graduation.
Outside of work, Marc enjoys riding his motorcycle through back roads and small towns. Proof of Marc’s hard work and dedication can be found in his steps – during an 8-hour shift, Marc averages 20,000-22,000 steps! Marc truly contributes to the mission of St. Joseph Hospital and we are grateful to have him on our team!
Congratulations, Marc!
