April 2025 Mission Champion

Stephanie Hamilton, CMA, joined the Pediatric Practice team at St. Joseph Hospital in August 2020. As a Certified Medical Assistant, she is primarily based at the Kinsley Street location, where she welcomes young patients with open arms. Additionally, she extends her expertise by providing additional support at the Daniel Webster Pediatric office and at our Amherst Street location.

Stephanie is passionate about her job mainly due to the incredible team she works alongside. The nurses and doctors she collaborates with, she says are truly outstanding. She is dedicated to ensuring that every patient receives the highest quality care. Stephanie feels grateful to be part of such a fantastic group, what she values most is the chance to work with young patients. With 22 years of experience in pediatrics, she wouldn’t choose any other path. She delights in seeing the children’s excitement over the prizes and stickers she gets to hand out.

One of Stephanie’s remarkable accomplishments is her effective execution of the Reach Out and Read program within all our pediatric practices over the last two years. This valuable initiative is designed to promote literacy among children, specifically targeting school-aged kids and infants ranging from six months to five years old. During each visit for their check-ups, these young patients are given the opportunity to select a brand-new book to take home. Stephanie’s dedication to this cause is evident; she is genuinely passionate about providing our children access to reading materials and the joy that comes from receiving a new book. Her efforts not only foster a love for reading but also contributes to the overall development of our little ones.

Melissa McKenna, Practice Operations Manager says “Stephanie continually shows compassion every time she brings a patient back to a room. Stephanie cares so deeply about the health of all the kids she works with. Stephanie works with a lot of patients who might need help with accessing formula or DME equipment and works with vendors all the way through to ensure the children have what they need.”  Also, Ann Dobbins, MD says “Stephanie is the driving force behind our Reach Out and Read program. Without her, it would not exist. Her prior employer in another state participated and she asked why we did not start the program here. She was the one with the know-how. She helped our other offices and did all the ordering and record-keeping for the Kinsley Street office. She is expanding to look for books for older children who are l too old for ROR.”

When Stephanie isn’t around, she loves spending quality time with her son, Matthew, and their cat, Sox. Each October, they bond over scary movies and haunted houses, exploring different locations to find the ultimate fright. Stephanie also enjoys visiting her sister in Florida and indulging in some shopping. She describes herself as a city girl as she is originally from Everett, MA, but she is truly enjoying her life in New Hampshire.

Congratulations, Stephanie!
