Melanie Megyesi, RDMS, has been a vital part of the Ultrasound Diagnostic Imaging Team since 2008, starting as a per diem sonographer. Over time, she transitioned from a part-time role to a full-time position and now proudly works as the General Ultrasound Supervisor.
One of Melanie’s favorite aspects of her job here at St. Joseph Hospital is the camaraderie among her coworkers with whom she collaborates with on a daily basis. She values the strong team dynamic, emphasizing the importance of getting to know each other both professionally and personally, fostering a supportive environment where everyone looks out for one another.
A particularly memorable moment for Melanie occurred when she had the privilege of performing a sonogram for a patient who had been struggling with non-viable pregnancies for years. This time, the outcome was different – the patient had a viable pregnancy, and the joy of that moment was profoundly rewarding for Melanie.
Katherine Perkins, Sonographer, shares, “Melanie takes the time to make sure our students are not only well educated, but also feel welcome in our department. She always acts with integrity by being honest, kind, and supportive to patients and coworkers. Melanie makes working at St. Joseph Hospital a joy and is truly the best boss I have ever had! She has always been there for me as a boss to help me in my career, but has also become a wonderful friend that I know I can always count on.”
Outside of work, Melanie can be found cruising around with her husband, John, in their 1979 MG convertible, exploring new destinations in the beautiful weather. Family time is also important to Melanie, as she cherishes moments with her sons, Brenda, Liam, and Riley, as well as their dog, Henley. Additionally, Melanie dedicates her time to volunteer at NHTI, Concord Community College, where she helps team students in the scan lab. Melanie extends a great appreciation for her nomination, but acknowledges that she wouldn’t be able to get the job done without her faith, family, and friends here at St. Joseph Hospital.
Congratulations, Melanie!
