More Control Over Your Healthcare with Self-Scheduling and MyChart®

Alisha Killeen is the Director of Ambulatory Services. One area she focuses on is improving operations across the Primary Care and Pediatrics practices in NashuaSouth NashuaHudsonMerrimack, and Milford, to ensure the patient experience is as personalized and positive as it can possibly be.

In 2023, St. Joe’s implemented self-scheduling with a thoughtful approach that offers two different access points:

  • New Patient Self-Scheduling – This option is specifically for those interested in a new patient physical appointment at a St. Joseph Hospital Primary Care, Pediatrics, or Orthopedics practice. Clicking the new patient scheduling button brings the patient to MyChart® or you can continue as a guest. From there, a short New Patient Onboarding questionnaire gathers information about previous providers and asks about past screenings. A release of medical information request form is also available. A staff member then contacts the new patient directly, welcomes them to the practice and sends them a comprehensive welcome packet.
  • Existing Patient Self-Scheduling – This option is for established St. Joe’s patients with MyChart and is most often used to book a variety of preventative or screening visits, such as an annual physical, Medicare annual wellness visit, screening mammography, or well child check. It is also used to book a sick visit, which can be scheduled with a Primary Care provider the same day or up to 5 days out.
