About Us
As the first comprehensive breast care center in the region, we simplify the process by bringing all areas of breast health under one roof. The Breast Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire, is even recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology. Our specially trained board-certified providers provide breast health education, case management, advocacy, and support – all available on-site by appointment. We also offer nutrition, psychosocial support, and counseling by referral.
Breast Screenings: Your First Line of Defense
Regular breast screenings are essential for prevention, as they allow us to detect changes before they become serious concerns. We encourage all women to begin annual screenings around age 40, or earlier if you have risk factors, because early detection can dramatically improve outcomes—leading to a five-year survival rate of up to 98% when cancer is caught early. Our compassionate team understands the anxiety that can come with screenings, so we strive to make the process as comfortable and efficient as possible, often providing results on the same day. In addition to professional exams, we promote monthly self-exams as a simple, empowering habit. During a self-exam, look for changes like lumps, skin dimpling, nipple inversion, or swelling— and remember, knowing your own body is key to spotting what’s normal for you. If anything feels off, our supportive staff is just a call away to guide you through next steps with kindness and expertise.
Breast Cancer Support Group
St. Joseph Hospital Breast Care Center in Nashua, New Hampshire, proudly offers a support group that welcomes survivors, newly diagnosed, family members, and friends. This group is a safe place in which you can talk about and work through the feelings and challenges you may experience with other people who have gone through similar experiences. Being apart of a group often creates a sense of belonging that helps each person feel more understood, and less alone.
This group meets on the third Wednesday of every month within the Breast Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. No registration is required for this free group, and we welcome any member of the community.
