How We Recognize Our Veterans:
The Veterans Honor Wall is located on the 1st floor next to the south elevators and features the seals of the different branches of the armed forces, and a rotating video display featuring photos of employees and their immediate families who served, along with details of their service. The honor wall was dedicated on Friday, November 11th, 2016.
To have your military photo, or that of a loved one, added to the honor wall please contact Matt Gosselin, Marketing, at mgosselin4@covh.org with a picture of your Veteran as well as their branch, rank and any other details of their service (i.e. Served in Vietnam”)

Each Veterans Day, the Veterans Council recognizes a Service Member or Veteran within the Greater Nashua community with a Quilt of Valor. Watch this video from one of our Quilt of Valor recipient celebrations on Veterans Day here: Veterans Day Celebration
A Quilt of Valor is a quality, handmade quilt that is machine or hand quilted. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. The Quilt of Valor says unequivocally, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice serving our nation.” To learn more about the program or to nominate someone for next Veterans Day, click here: https://stjosephhospital.com/quilts-of-valor/

Holiday Cards for Our Troops
Every year, St. Joseph Hospital participates in the Holiday Cards for Military Challenge. Our goal is to collect hundreds of personalized cards from staff to send to deployed troops during the holiday season. Each year, we average around 300-500 cards!

In 2024, we designed and sold our first Veterans Day T-shirts. Some of these shirts may be available in the St. Joseph Hospital Gift Shop, however, we plan on re-ordering these each year for staff that wish to purchase them.
Veterans Council members collect supplies for those currently serving from Memorial Day to 4th of July and have Christmas in July event.
Each Veterans Day, the Veterans Council plans multiple activities and recognition events including live music in the atrium, the Quilt of Valor presentation, free coffee and food for our Veterans, American flags lining the driveway to the hospital and more. We are always looking for suggestions to improve or add to the festivities.
Department sponsored celebration upon the employees return to work [after being deployed] that will highlight their value and importance to the organization.
