Accredited Stroke Care
As a DNV Accredited Primary Stroke Center, St. Joseph Hospital offers expert, time-sensitive stroke care 24/7 to minimize long-term effects and improve survival rates. Our Stroke Team Activation process mobilizes board-certified providers, nurses, and technicians for immediate evaluation, including rapid CT imaging, thrombolytic therapy (like tNK), and endovascular procedures if needed.

EMS Services
St. Joseph Hospital is deeply integrated with local EMS, serving as a Medical Resource Hospital for 17 First Responder Agencies, including municipal fire departments, EMS units, police, and non-municipal emergency teams across the region. Our EMS Medical Director, Kimberly Ohman, MD, oversees protocols, training, and quality assurance to align pre-hospital and hospital care seamlessly. Pre-hospital providers, such as paramedics and EMTs, play a critical role in the care continuum and transportation of patients via ambulances.
We support EMS through ongoing collaboration, including joint drills, feedback sessions, and access to our facilities for training. Additionally, St. Joseph School of Nursing offers a comprehensive Paramedic Training Program, a 13-month, 1014-hour course approved by the New Hampshire State EMS Office. For EMS professionals seeking collaboration or training opportunities, contact our EMS Operations Supervisor, Kevin Blinn at (603) 884-4337.

They oversee staff training, protocol development, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure seamless patient experiences. Our nurses, many with advanced certifications in emergency and trauma care, work hand-in-hand with physicians, specialists, and pre-hospital providers to deliver evidence-based, compassionate services.
