Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation

As a recognized leader in acute rehabilitation services, we work every day to help patients return to an active lifestyle. Our acute inpatient rehabilitation program is led by board-certified physiatrists with advanced medical training and skills to diagnose and treat functional disabilities that may be caused by injuries, illnesses, or birth defects.

With 24 beds and a high nurse-to-patient ratio, you will get the personalized care that is so important during recovery. Patient rooms are soothing and bright, each complete with a telephone, television, and bathroom. Family and friends can visit in your room, in our spacious family room, or in our dining room during meal times. Here, you will meet and form bonds with others who have similar challenges, and work with experienced professionals to help you meet your goals.

Admission and Discharge

We accept referrals for admission from physicians, social workers, case managers, other healthcare professionals, family members, and patients themselves. A referral specialist will gather the appropriate details and meet with the patient and their family. A pre-admission committee evaluates the rehabilitation potential of the patient to determine eligibility for admission.

St. Joseph Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation accepts Medicare, Medicaid, workers compensation, and most major private insurance plans that cover rehabilitation services prescribed by a physician.

Before you leave, your rehabilitation team will make decisions about continuing therapy and coordinate services to be sure returning home is as comfortable and stress-free as possible. If needed, family conferences and home visits are available to assist with a discharge plan.
